Betty Lorinda (Castleman) Garner Obituary (Age 89) Passed away December 16, 2010 in Renton, WA. She was born October 5, 1921 at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane to Albert and Violet (Mullan) Castleman. She was raised in Spokane, moved to Coeur d'Alene for several years then moved back to Spokane after her children were born. She graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School. Betty married Melvin Garner August 11, 1941 in Coeur d'Alene. Her surviving children are Rodney (Pat) Garner of Newcastle, WA and twins Sandra (George) Kacarka of Florence, MS and Sally (John) Devine of Marion, MT; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, three sisters and two grandsons. She worked many years at Universal Engine Heater Company and various retail sales positions. She was a long time active member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Spokane. She was active in bowling, crafts, gardening, an avid cook and enjoyed serving holiday meals surrounded by her family and friends. Funeral Service 11:00AM Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Heritage Chapel. Donations are requested to Immanuel Baptist Church, 5109 N. Adams St., Spokane, WA, 99205.
