Beverly Zimmerman Obituary
(Age 83)
Our dear mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Beverly Zimmerman was called to a mission she could not refuse (and was anxious to accept!) on May 6th. She has rejoined Ira, her wonderful and dearly missed husband of 67 years and still counting, according to her faith that families are forever. She is also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Frank; and three of her children, Steve, Dan and Marlene. She is survived by her sister and dear friend, Yvonne; and her nine children, Sam, Melody, Penny, Tim, Tom, Tracy, Tammy, Tanya and Terra. She will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, 39 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and extended family and dear friends. We will all miss this amazing person we knew and loved so much.
Beverly Zimmerman was born in Salt Lake City, UT and moved to the Portland, OR area when she was seven years old. Her greatest dream was fulfilled when she became a devoted wife and mother. Beverly met her future husband, Ira, when they were in high school together. Ira served in the Navy, so the Zimmerman?s first two children were born in San Diego. They were blessed with seven more children in Oregon and eventually had a family of twelve children with the births of three more children in Colfax, WA. Beverly?s family has lived in the Cheney and Spokane area for the last 29 years.
Beverly has always been very grateful for the support of her family and always looked forward to family reunions each year and special family time on Christmas Eve. She enjoyed writing poetry. She also enjoyed writing skits for her kids, for church and even for work, and her sense of humor was famous.
Beverly cherished her testimony of the redeemer and the gospel?s restoration, grateful for her marriage to a worthy priesthood holder and her opportunity to raise a family together in the gospel. She deeply and unconditionally loved each of her family members. In return, the love she felt from her family and her faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, helped Beverly make it through many challenges. She also felt a great concern for all who were struggling and yearned to help the less fortunate when she could.
A celebration of her life will be held this Saturday, May 12th, at the LDS Church at 14111 E. 16th Ave., Spokane Valley, WA. Viewing will begin at 9:30am and the funeral will be held at 10:30am. We hope all who knew her will be able to come. Interment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Terrace at 12:30pm.
