January 3, 1934 – February 1, 2026
Birgitta E Landreth passed away at 92 years on February 1, 2026. She is survived by her two daughters, Britt-Marie Landreth and Birgitta E. Stocking.Â
She was called Mormor by her grandchildren, Tim & Adrienne, and great grandchildren Timmy, Mateo, Abigail and Mila. She was greatly love by all of her family.
She loved doing charitable and social activities with the Compass Club in Spokane Washington.
She greatly enjoyed spending social time with her Swedish friends. They lovingly named themselves the Swedish Mafia.
She was born in Gusum, Sweden on January 3, 1934. She was the town’s first girl to deliver newspapers. During the winters she delivered newspapers in the snow on her skis.
She met our father, Jay Landreth (an American Air Force Navigator) in London. They were married for 63 years. Both of them loved to travel.
She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Making our favorites: Fluffy pancakes and Swedish princess cakes.
We lived in Woodland Hills CA from 1968-1992, then our father and mother moved to Spokane to start retired life. She always had a beautiful garden wherever she lived. Many members of our Swedish family came to visit our childhood home.Â
Our parents moved to Washington in 1990, their first home was built in Tum Tum. Later they moved to River Run in Spokane, then in 2020 they moved to Touchmark. Everywhere they lived they made friends and enjoyed socializing with all of them.Â
We loved our mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed both in the USA and in Sweden.
