Brian C. Avery Obituary
Brian passed away on April 17, 2017, just one day after his 59th birthday. He was born on April 16, 1958 in Spokane to Robert Malcom and Virginia Kathleen Avery.
Brian graduated from Central Valley High School in 1976 and completed his education at Whitworth, receiving a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army with honor. His military disability moved him on to dedicate the next 30 years to the Department of Defense at Fairchild AFB. In June of 2002 he married the love of his life and soul mate, Cheryl Christianson Avery. In addition to his own daughter Lacy, he opened his heart to Ashley and loved her as his own. His family always came first in providing, protecting, caring and teasing them.
Together, Brian and Cheryl loved exploring the area mountains with friends on their 4 wheelers and enjoying relaxing weekends at Blue Slide and Heyburn State Park. Campgrounds and campfires were an integral part of their recreation. He as well lived for bass fishing with his long-time buddy, Dennis. They spent years navigating the chain lakes and Columbia River looking for the big one. Making and swapping fish stories was their best fishing entertainment.
Brian was always open to try something new; shooting guns, whittling, recipes and BBQs. He loved to BBQ and the more people he had to feed the more fun it was. Ribs were his specialty. Brian was a friend to all, giving himself completely to friends and family. He was full of life and lived life to the fullest with robust laughter, humor and passion. We will miss you Bri and forever keep you in our hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00AM. Memorial contributions may be made in Brians name to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
