"Bud" Walter Ray Wright Obituary Bud was born in the family home in Tekoa, WA on March 8, 1931 to John L. and Velda B. Wright. He graduated from Tekoa High School in 1949 and from EWCE (EWU) in 1953 with a degree in education. While in college he played on the varsity basketball team. After graduation in 1953, he entered the military and served two years in the US Army. After his discharge from the military, he taught math in Spokane schools. In 1966 he went to San Francisco to work as an editor on a new math textbook. After the textbook was completed, he returned to teaching math at Oakesdale, WA in 1968 where he also coached high school basketball and football. He was the assistant coach for the 1973 state B basketball championship team. He taught in Oakesdale until his retirement in 1989. Retirement included playing golf with his very good friends. Bud married the love of his life, Sandy Stanczak, on April 2, 1983. They spent many happy years together traveling to Mexico and cruising. Survivors include his loving wife, Sandy, his sister Marion, his nephews and nieces, his many devoted friends and the students he taught who were ?his kids.? Donation may be made to your favorite charity in Bud?s name. A time of visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 10 am to 5 pm and again on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 8 am to 5 pm. A funeral service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 12 noon.
