Carl Elvin Dobson Obituary (Age 81) Carl Elvin Dobson, 81, long time resident of Medical Lake, passed away in Spokane, WA on August 29, 2017. Carl was born on February 23, 1936 to parents Vina K. Dobson and Carl E. Dobson in Dinuba, CA. Early in his life, his parents taught him the value of family, hard work and helping others. He joined the U.S Air Force out of high school where he served for over 21 years. While in the Air Force, Carl met the love of his life, Neysa C. Johnson and they were married on May 12, 1956 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. The next few years brought three children; Andrea, Tammala and Michael. Carl adored his grandchildren Tara, Cassie, Kristen and Brandon and his great-grandchildren Brynn and Avianna. He shared a special bond with each of them and cherished his time with them. After retiring from the Air Force, he went to school while working nights. He received a B.A. degree in Industrial Arts and a Master's Degree from Eastern Washington University. He went on to teach Industrial Arts at Wellpinit High School and at the Washington State Corrections Center in Shelton, WA. Carl enjoyed woodworking, traveling with Neysa, playing with his dogs, playing golf and many more things. He was also an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Medical Lake. Although we grieve now for the loss of Carl, we rejoice in the knowledge that he is in Heaven. His life was a life well lived and he will be forever missed. Carl is survived by his children, Andrea Dobson of Sunnyside, WA; Tammala Pagliaro (Louis) of Kent, WA; Michael Dobson (Doreena) of Spokane, WA; his four grandchildren Tara Dobson (Ron Meili) of Spokane; Cassie Hester (James) of Spokane; Kristen Pagliaro of Spokane; Brandon Pagliaro of Kent; his two great-grandchildren Brynn Meili of Spokane; and Avianna Hester of Spokane. He is also survived by one sister Jean Olsen of Orange, CA; and two nieces Dawn Olsen (Stephen Hughes) of Los Angeles, CA and Debbie Dilzer (Dan) of Chatsworth, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents Vina K. and Carl E. Dobson, and his wife Neysa C. Dobson. A time of visitation will be from 1:00pm - 5:00pm on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. In lieu of flowers, to honor Carl, contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration of Spokane or Hospice of Spokane.
