Carl LaVerne Hamlin Obituary Carl passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side at the age of 89. Oldest of 5 born to Carl J. and Gertrude Hamlin in Spokane, WA. He attended Rogers High School while working in his family?s successful printing business, Pearl Press Printers. In 1948 he married the love of his life, Moreen L. Ross. Together they had 6 children. Carla (David) Gogert of Wasilla, AK, Laurana (Roy) Shaw of Spokane, WA, Moreen Hamlin of Wasilla, AK, Skyler (Michelle) Hamlin of Colville, WA, Maylon (Carlana) Hamlin of Newman Lake, WA, Darin (Connie) Hamlin of Elk, WA. Among Carl?s many trades, his stories favored Longshoreman, printing and foundry work and was a member of GMP Local No. 289. He was also employed at Boeing and Powers Candy. Family was his pride and joy. Telling stories of his life raising their family on the farm in Chattaroy lit up his world. His hobby later in life was woodworking such as Christmas decor, Adirondack furniture and Tic-Tac-Toe boards for his grandkids. Carl is survived by his siblings Carol Rodgers, Betty Dietzman, Jack and Mike Hamlin, all of Spokane, 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Moreen of 51 years, his brother Donald L. Hamlin, infant son Carl Hamlin Jr. and infant great-granddaughter Tanisha Broadsword. A special thank you to Hospice of Spokane for their excellent guidance and support. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
