Carol Ann Thayer Obituary (Age 79) Loving wife, mother and grandmother died Saturday, February 11, 2012, peacefully in her sleep. She, almost eighty, was still planning trips to take and places to see. She was looking forward to the annual return to the Oregon Coast where she had started her teaching career. While in the hospital she continued to be concerned about friends who are currently facing physical and mental anguish, yet she could no longer help. She was already making plans for her yard and the church grounds. She touched the lives of countless people with her talent and generosity. She volunteered at Meals on Wheels for thirty years, she taught at Country Homes Language School, she for many years worked on Habitat for Humanity projects, she was active in her support of Caritas, a NW Spokane care center and she assisted with the Interfaith Hospitality (now Family Promise) program. Carol leaves her husband Phil; children and spouses Art and Julie, Ken and Laura, Janet and Roger Forkner; grandsons Doug Forkner, Brandon, Ryan and John. Her weavings, hand work and roses will continue to adorn the house she made into her home and the homes of family and friends. Memorial Service 2PM Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Country Homes Christian Church, 8415 N. Wall, Spokane 99208. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to Landscaping Fund at Country Homes Christian Church.
