Catherine Niobe (Donnelly) Basta Obituary Catherine was born March 11, 1931 in Newell, SD to Richard Henry Donnelly and Lucy Brott. She passed away in Everett, WA on April 13, 2015 at the age of 84. The family moved to Washington State in 1937 and eventually settled in Waitsburg, WA. Catherine graduated from St. Mary?s School of Nursing in Walla Walla, WA in 1952. In 1955, she married Louis Francis Basta at St. Mark?s Catholic Church in Waitsburg. They were married for 50 years. They made their home in Spokane, WA where they raised eleven children; Michael Basta (Kathleen), Teresa Ockinga (Gene), Margaret Stringer (Chuck), James Basta (Linda), Kenneth Basta, Alana Niemi (Bruce), Lori Wirtz, (Bill), Raffeline Basta, Richard Basta(Mary), Vicki Basta, Joseph Basta. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis, and by her siblings, Richard Donnelly, Mary Hopkins, Elma Brown, John Donnelly, Eleanor Supon, Delbert Donnelly and Bernard Donnelly. And two cousins raised by the family, Kenneth and Alberta Fay. She is survived by her eleven children, 22 grandchildren, her siblings Lillian Pereria, Frank Donnelly, David Donnelly, Patrick Donnelly and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 17, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1503 W. Dean Ave, Spokane, WA, and will be officiated by Fr. Mark Pautler. A private family internment at Holy Cross Cemetery will take place following the reception at the church hall. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
