Cathryn "Jean" Nicklas Obituary (Age 80) Was born on February 9, 1929 to Patrick and Dora Clune in Bear River, MN. She graduated from Duluth High School in 1946. In 1956 she married Joe Nicklas. She is survived by five children: Sandra Petron, Mooselake, MN, Patricia Smith, San Francisco, CA, David Nicklas (Elizabeth), San Diego, CA, Mary Charter (Ron), Bonfield, IL and John Nicklas (Diane), Spokane, WA; 12 grandchildren: Celeste, Kerri, Brandon, Shea, Ryan, Jared, Matthew, Zachary, Bryanna, Amy, Jacob, and Joseph; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Chris in 1981 and her husband Joe in 2005. Cathryn lived most of her life in Kankakee, Illinois and most recently in Spokane. By her request a small private service was held on Sunday in Spokane. A Memorial Service will be held in Kankakee. Donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane or the Alzheimer's Association.
