Charles "Chuck" David Macomber Obituary (Age 81) Chuck was born on October 14, 1935 in Bonners Ferry, ID to Harold McWilliams and Marie Scott-Macomber. He was an adventurous youth who enjoyed swimming, sports, the outdoors, hunting, cars and dancing while raised in Colville, WA. He attended and graduated from Colville High School in 1954. Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea from 1956-1958 as part of the signal corps. Upon his return to the States, he met and married his wife of 58 years, Karen Kroth on September 10, 1958 in Longmont, CO. Moving to and raising his family in Spokane, he started a few side businesses including a tree farming operation involving the whole family. He mainly worked as a lineman, telephone man, and technical resources repairman for US West for 38 years, retiring in 1992. Filled with personality, enthusiasm, and a zest for life he was an avid hunter, sportsman and card player. He especially enjoyed deer hunting, assisting with his sons Boy Scout Troop, and fishing the waters of the Florida Keys for barracuda. He loved sports of all kinds, was an avid bowler with two perfect 300 games to his credit, and was a little league baseball coach for 10 years. His ability and memory for playing pinochle, bridge, cribbage and poker were a source of pride that spanned his entire lifetime. A dedicated and loving family man, he was accepting of all, welcoming them to his house with a big hug. He is survived by his wife, Karen; His six children and their spouses, Eric (Lisa), Kurt (Sue), Tammy, Neal, Sherry and Clay (Kristin); eight grandchildren Aren, Amanda, Luke, Matt, Magnus, Joshua, Marissa, and Kris; one great grandson Simon; his brothers Ken Macomber of Colville, WA and Wayne (Debbie) Macomber of Port Orchard, WA. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Chapel.
