Charlie Ben Turman Obituary Charlie Ben Turman, 69 of Spokane, died in his home surrounded by his family on 10/02/2010 after a strong and honorable battle with diabetes and stroke. Charlie was born in The Dalles, Oregon on May 24, 1941 to Charles (Curley) and Charlotte Turman. Charlie graduated from The Dalles High School in 1959 and married Gloria Jean West in 1964. He moved his family to Spokane in 1974 and began working for Crick Company Construction. He started his own business, Turman's Bobcat Service from which he eventually retired. He enjoyed watching football at all levels. Loved the Seahawks but was the biggest fan of his children and grandchildren as they played and coached the game he loved so much. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his loving wife of 46 years and caregiver for the last 18 months of his life Gloria Jean Turman, and five children, daughter Tamie and Kyle Spitzer, Charlie Turman Jr., Joe and Brenda Turman, Corey and Kersten Turman, Mindy Turman all of Spokane and brother Dennis Turman (The Dalles, OR), eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Charlie will be deeply missed but as he proclaimed in his last hours "I will be back!" Services will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park on Friday, October 8th at 11:00AM.
