Christel Marsh Obituary
(Age 90) Christel went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2010. She was born on October 31, 1919 to Ed and Emma Mahlum in Roosevelt County, MT. She attended a country school near her rural home and high school in Wolf Point, MT graduating in 1937. Christel worked in a restaurant in Wolf Point then moved to Spokane to attend business school. She was employed as a secretary in Spokane prior to her marriage to Weber Marsh in 1945. After moving to Milan, WA she worked as a newspaper carrier and did substitute work at the local post office while raising her children. After her four children were grown she was employed for 20 years as ward secretary on the pediatrics floor at Deaconess Hospital until her retirement in 1982. She was an active member of Central Lutheran Church for 70 years. She also was a member of the Sons of Norway and volunteered at Deaconess Hospital. She loved working in her rose garden and was actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was married to Weber Marsh for 60 years before he preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by her sister Doris Larson, brother Dennis (Darlene) Mahlum, sister-in-law Lee Mahlum, Blanche Mahlum, and brother in-in-law Delmore (Jackie) Marsh, daughters Carmen (Steve) Deal, Janice (Vern) Anderson, Linda (Gene) Hodgden, son Wallace Marsh, grandchildren; Robert (Veronica) Deal, William Deal, Cheryl Anderson, Brian (Heather) Anderson, Karen Nichols, Heidi (Seth) Garrod, Duane (Stephanie) Hodgden, great-grandchildren; Seth, Stacia, Saige, Spencer, Aaron and Abby, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Thank you to the staff of Fairview Assisted Living for the TLC you provided Mom for the past 5 years. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Lutheran Church or Fairview Assisted Living-Activity Program (1617 N. Calispel, Spokane, WA, 99205. A Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Central Lutheran Church, 512 S. Bernard Street.
