Christina Marie McGirk Obituary
It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow to announce the passing of our mother, Christina Marie McGirk, of Spokane on October 31, 2016 after a long battle with an extremely rare illness called Fahr's disease. Christina is survived by her husband, John McGirk, her two sons, Andrew Hilton and Christian McGirk, her loving sister Karen Johnson, her loving niece Deanna Kimling, her nephew Thomas Johnson and her two grandchildren. I would like to express my personal gratitude to my stepfather, John for his dedication to my mother. There is no way to describe all of the things that you did for her. In spite of the long, painfully slow deterioration of health, you unselfishly took her to church every Sunday until she could no longer attend. My brother, Christian, was a model son. He showed her compassion and love in sickness and in health that I will always admire. You took the time to visit, create art for her to enjoy, and brought her fresh flowers. These are traits one could only hope to have in a son and brother. Life sometimes keeps answers to questions we have all to itself. While life didn't offer the picture perfect relationship between my mother and myself, it doesn't devalue the love between a mother and a son. We are all so grateful that you no longer have to fight or suffer so bravely. I will not lose hope that we will get our chance to sit side by side in a place made just for us somewhere just above the sky. Please tell grandma and grandpa and your brother Mike and sister Teresa hello. Until we meet again, rest in peace dear mother, wife, grandmother, sister and aunt.
