Clarice Ross Obituary Clarice Ross, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt slipped peacefully to her heavenly home on November 7, 2014. Clarice was born on December 11, 1923 to Frank and Julia Rae of Minnewaukan, North Dakota. She spent most of her growing up years on the family farm and moved to Spokane, Washington when she was 12 years old. During WWII she worked at a spaghetti factory. She married the love of her life Leon Ross on May 1, 1945. Leon and Clarice Ross served the Lord faithfully during their 64 years of marriage. She loved music and during WWII sang in a trio for church and other functions. Over the years she served in the church choir and sang solos at numerous weddings and funerals. She also was a gifted cook and served with her sister Thelma Darling as assistant cook during the summers at Pinelow Nazarene church camp. She served with her husband Leon Ross with Nazarene Missions International by preparing clothing and medical supplies as well as Work and Witness teams to Costa Rica and Mexico. Every Christmas she would bake cookies and take to the elderly in their local church. She taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon Ross, daughter LeAnn Gardner, sisters Dorothy Jimenez, Thelma Castle, and brother Orville Rae. She is also preceded in death by nephews Jerry Rae, Creighton Darling and great-nephew Mike Hess. She is survived by her daughter Jane Drake (Claudus), son in law John Gardner, grandchildren Brian Gardner (Sherry), Amy Yates (Jeff), and Julia Drake. In addition she is survived by five great-grandchildren, one niece Kathleen Hess, nephews, Keith Darling (Sheila), Dennis Rae (Connie), and 8 great-nieces and nephews including 20 great-great-nieces and nephews. Donations can be made to Nazarene Missions International and American Diabetes Association. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th and Friday, November 14th from 10:00 AM to 5:00PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 15th at 11:30AM at Westside Church of the Nazarene, 2820 W. Francis Avenue.
