Constance Lorene "Connie" Forkner Obituary (Age 83) Passed away peacefully on December 25, 2015 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Connie was born September 15, 1932 to Leonard and Leah Quam, the middle of three children. She graduated from North Central High School in 1950 and lived in Spokane her whole life. Connie was a gifted musician and gave the gift of music to all her children and grandchildren. She played the piano beautifully as well as playing many of our local church pipe organs. Connie was a church organist and choir director at five area churches. She worked many years as a word processor for Wells, St. John and Roberts - Patent Attorneys. Connie and her husband Bob traveled to many parts of North America including several conventions with the American Guild of Organists. They enjoyed many summers at Jump Off Joe Lake Resort. She also enjoyed boating on their pontoon boat. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, American Guild of Organists, and PEO Chapter CW. She volunteered for the Fig Tree, The Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane and Bread for the World. Twice served as Dean of the AGO in Spokane. Survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert A. Forkner; and her children, Lonnie, Laurie, Julie, Lisa, Monica (from first husband Paul G.S. Lloyd) and David (from second husband Leslie W. Harris); stepchildren, Deborah Wilson (Frank), Laurie Baltutat (Ed) and Kevin Forkner (Bernadette); brother, Paul Quam; and her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Gregory, sister Carol Matthews and second husband Leslie W. Harris. All who knew and loved her will miss Connie. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 10:00am-4:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Salem Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00am, 1428 W. Broadway, Spokane, WA with reception to follow. Memorials can be made to Salem Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
