Coral J. Colburn Obituary (Age 89) Coral unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015. A lifetime Spokane resident, Coral was born on November 12, 1925 to Arthur and Clara Zick. Coral graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and married on February 2, 1946 to her devoted husband of 67 years, Hoyt ?Bud? Colburn a WWII Pearl Harbor Navy Veteran. They had two beloved children, Gregory and Tamara, who preceded their parents in death. Coral?s heart was in staying home as a faithful homemaker to her two children and husband; but to round out the family, Coral always had a dog by her side. All sizes and shapes, Coral was a dog-lover through n? through. She had several favorite hobbies most notably spending hours outdoors creating beauty in her various gardens or indoors being creative with her sewing machine. In later years, Bud and Coral fulfilled a dream with the purchase of a lake cabin spending weekends and summers providing a getaway for extended family and friends. She was a member of Lincoln Heights Community Church; and throughout the decades, Coral enjoyed the camaraderie & friendship of ?The Great Bunch?. Coral is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Colburn and two grandchildren, Kelly Colburn and Brandon Colburn & wife, Cherie and their daughter, Breya Bee, Coral?s one-year-old great grand-daughter. The family wishes to ?Thank? Coral?s faithful friends Shirley Hooper & Stan and long-time neighbor, Florence Haidle for their numerous thoughtful gestures towards Coral and the family; and Cindy Chavez for her compassionate assistance. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in the Spring, Friday, May 22, 2015, at 2 pm at Lincoln Heights Community Church, 3527 East 29th, Spokane, corner of 29th and Freya.
