December 20, 1960 - June 01, 2009

Cory Allen Hubbard Obituary (Age 48) Passed from undetermined causes on May 31, 2009, while hiking in the North Cascade Mountains near Mazama, Washington. His beloved dog, Boo, remained at his side. It should be remembered that our Cory was doing what he loved to do when so abruptly taken from us: being in the mountains with Boo and pursuing his new found passion for outdoor photography. Cory was born December 20, 1960, in Colfax, Washington to Myrle Elaine (Judy Whitney) and Levi E. Hubbard. He grew up in California and Alaska, where his love of the outdoors began, eventually returning to eastern Washington where he was graduated from Lewis and Clark High School at Spokane in 1979. Cory enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after high school and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant of Marines with over eight years of honorable service. He was trained as an airframe and propulsion mechanic with the Marine Air Wing and was employed by Boeing Aircraft working on the Dreamliner 787 and residing in Mukilteo, Washington at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his father, Levi Hubbard and is survived by his mother, Judy Hubbard; her life partner, Mark Domini; and brother Levi (Jay) Hubbard; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Okanogan County Search and Rescue, Okanogan County Sheriff's Office, 123 5th Ave.N., Okanogan, WA 98840, Attn: Chief Deputy Dave Rodriguez.
