Dallin Paul Merchant, age 26, a loving son, brother, and friend, passed away on February 2, 2026, in Spokane, Washington.

Dallin was born on October 22, 1999, in Colfax, Washington, to parents

Angela Ahlstrom and Paul Merchant.

He graduated from Joel E. Ferris High School in 2018 and, shortly after, began his career at Engie Impact. Over the course of more than seven years, Dallin deeply impacted many of his coworkers, continuously showed outstanding effort, and became an

invaluable part of his team.

Dallin’s creative mind was shared through his love of books, music, movies, and games. His passion for adventure left loved ones with precious memories of hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Dallin described him as a kind and gentle soul whose heart was too big for this world.

He is survived by his parents, Angela Ahlstrom; Paul and Rebecca Merchant; siblings, Jacob Quadry, London Jolstead, Ethan Merchant, Mariah Eisenman, Miranda Rainwater, and Jadyn, Shayla, Austin, and Rusty Black; and grandparents, Glenda Merchant, Ronald and Linda Merchant, Julie and Stephen Ahlstrom and Diane Martinsen,

as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

Dallin's family wants all those who may be struggling with knowing their worth, to truly understand how precious and beautiful each life is. You are loved.
