Dan Mulrine Obituary
(Age 94) Passed away August 26 in Spokane after a short respiratory illness. Born June 12, 1916 in Spokane to Frank E. and Jessie Mulrine, he attended schools in Spokane and Tacoma and graduated from U of W in 1940 remaining a life-long member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He enjoyed being known as the "2nd man of the 1937 UW golf team". Dan worked as a top salesman for Van Waters and Rogers for over 40 years covering Eastern Washington, Western Montana, and Arizona. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kaye. Dan is survived by his son Franke and daughter-in-law, Andrea of Federal Way, daughter Danette and daughter-in-law, Dee Linton of Sacramento, and son Dan Mulrine, Jr. of Spokane. He is also survived by two grandsons and three granddaughters: Tim and Mignon Mulrine and daughters Shelbie and Jesse of Sumner, WA; Ross Mulrine and wife Rachel Long of Bellingham, WA; Kim Rowe and Bruce Donelan and sons Ethan Rowe and Sean Rowe of Arlington, WA; Christina and Derek Hanson and daughters Juliet and Ruby Cate of Portland, OR, and Ketti Mulrine and Marcus Hair and sons Colby, Ethan and Logan of Spokane. He will also be specially remembered by niece Liz MacIntosh and husband Joe of Prosser, WA as well as many other nieces and nephews and friends. Dan was known for his sense of humor, warmth and willingness to "share a beer" with all he met, especially on St. Patrick's Day. He played golf for over 20 years at Manito Golf and Country Club and was proud of his two hole-in-ones. He loved animals and always had a favorite dog in his life, most recently Bailey the Havanese. A memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 1:30PM. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Spokane Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
