Daniel Carl Yamada

Daniel Carl Yamada, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away surrounded by family on July 30, 2025, in his hometown of Spokane, WA, at the age of 69. Dan was born on December 29, 1955, to Carl and Evelyn Yamada (Harty).


On June 15, 1979, Dan married the love of his life, Karen Gothberg, in Spokane. Together, they built a beautiful life raising three sons: Stephen, Adam, and Andrew.


Dan worked for 25 years as a Fireman Pourer Operator at Kaiser Aluminum.


He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Cameron (Tasha), Colby, Kylie, Kaelyn, and Joycelynn and his great-granddaughter, Adaline May, whom he all loved deeply. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Karen Yamada; sons Stephen (Amber) Yamada of Spokane, Adam (Britt) Yamada of Soap Lake, and Andrew Yamada of Spokane; brothers Ken Yamada and Joe Yamada; sister Cathy Hansen; his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.


Dan's memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 21st at 1:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home located at 508 N Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
