December 28, 1945 - January 10, 2015

Daniel P. Sullivan Obituary Dan was born December 28, 1945 in Portland, Oregon to Dr. David and Alice Elvena Sullivan. Dan was the second of seven children. He lived in Spokane the majority of his life. Dan began yard work and assisting at St. Augustine's Church at an early age for the joy of contributing and being around people. After graduating from high school, Dan worked at a variety of locations including The Spokane Club, The Davenport Hotel, Manito Presbyterian Church, Spokane Community College, and finally EWU where he worked for twenty-eight years. Not one to retire, Dan continued part-time employment at the Spokane Display House, cleaning homes, and volunteering at the Food Bank and Christmas Bureau. Dan was unable to drive, so he utilized the transit and para-transit system on a regular basis. He got to know Spokane well and never went anywhere without someone calling out hello to him due to his friendly and out-going nature. Dan thoroughly enjoyed traveling, and cruise ships were his favorite mode of transportation. Parties and gatherings were also another favorite, and he was invited to many by family, friends, and neighbors. Attending more than one party a night during the holidays was not unusual for Dan. Cancer slowed him down, but work and good times with friends and family were always his priorities. Sadly, Dan passed away January 10, 2015. He is survived by his mother, Alice Elvena, siblings Tom (Sally), Michael (Venny), Tim (Bonnie), Kathleen Teegarden (Chuck), David, Mary (Alex Atacador), and several nephews, nieces, and great-nephews. The family wishes to thank Hospice Nurse, Laura, and Hospice Social Worker, Vicki, for their dedication, kindness, and compassion. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 1517 E. 33rd Ave., Spokane, WA 99203 on Monday, January 26 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Dan's honor may be made to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur St., Spokane, WA 99202, or Christmas Bureau, C/O Catholic Charities of Spokane, 12 E. 5th Ave. Spokane, WA 99202.
