Daniel W. Samuels

March 30, 1961 - March 23, 2017

Daniel W. Samuels Obituary (Age 55) Dan was born and raised in Spokane, WA. He attended Holmes Elm, Glover Jr. High and graduated from North Central High school. Afterwards attending a couple years at Spokane Community College. He had a passion for sports. He played softball for many years as a child and into adult life. Dan lived 15 of his adult years on the Spokane Indian reservation, then spending the rest of his life in Spokane! Dan did not have children of his own, but he loved and helped raise 3 stepchildren and a niece. He also loved his role as "Uncle" to all!! Dan was of Catholic faith. He was a member of the Spokane Tribe of Indians. He held many different types of work; Dan also did volunteer work at American Indian Community Center. Dan is survived by his mother, Carolyn Samuels/Were (Spokane); brothers, David Samuels and Tom Samuels(Spokane); 1 granddaughter and 4 grandsons; 4 nieces and 4 nephews; 8 great-nieces; 9 great-nephews; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and several friends. Dan is preceded in death by his father, Daniel C. Samuels; stepfather, Milton Were; grandparents, Ed & Louise Samuels and Arthur &Evelyn Rasmussen; sisters, Kathy Samuels/Adams, Donna Samuels and Debbie Samuels; nephew, Butch "Ray" Dennis; aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 28th from Noon- 5pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held Tuesday, March 28th at 6pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A funeral will be held Wednesday, March 29th at 2pm at Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, with graveside to follow. A potluck will follow the graveside service.
