Darlene G. Wood Obituary (Age 82) Darlene was born in Wahpeton, ND November 10, 1935 to Gladys and Gilman Domholt. In the 1940?s their family headed west and put their roots down in Auburn, WA. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Wood, who was stationed at Fort Lewis. She moved to the Spokane Valley and lived with Bob?s sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and Hubert Seney. She loved bob?s big family; his parents Mirl and Della, and his brothers and sisters Bill, Harriet, Dewayne, Iva, Bessie and Ted. They became her family. They were married in 1955 and together they raised four children until Bob?s untimely death in 1974. Darlene was a checker at the Shadle Safeway for 38 years. Because she so loved her customers, she did not retire until the age of 72. She is survived by her son Brett (Carol) Wood, and daughters Pamela (Steve) McGrath, Robin (Philip) Harrison and Renee (Rick, deceased) Seaman, all living nearby to her. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters Beverly Mills (Mt. Vernon, WA), Gladell Magnuson (Des Moines, WA) and brother Riichard Domholt (Alameda, CA) A Memorial will be held on July 5th at 2:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the local chapter of Alzheimer?s Association @ ALZ.org in her name.
