Darlene Marie (Wood) Brown

Darlene Marie (Wood) Brown passed away peacefully February 23, 2025. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandma, sister, aunt, and friend.


Born May 7, 1946 in Spokane, WA to Merle and Gisella Wood she was the youngest of her three siblings. After graduating from Marycliff High School in 1964, she went to Spokane Community College obtaining her Associate Degree as a RN in 1973. Darlene was a nurse for 34 years, with most of those years working Surgical/Orthopedics on night shift. After leaving her childhood home the red house on 3rd Ave, (2nd house, from the church), she relocated to the south hill until her final years at Ciel of Spokane. Darlene was a generous woman, had a passion for caring for others, and devotion to both family and friends. She also possessed the talent of making cookies as well as other delicious meals.   


Darlene is survived by her brother Tony (Sally)Wood; sons Joe (Jeanne) Green, Shawn (Kristi) Brown, Dan (Dayleen) Green. daughters; Shannon Brown, Holly (Rob) Kent, and Patricia (David Perry) Brown grandchildren: Jenessa (Josh Boyd), Kelsey, Mia, Jordan, Nakita, Courtney, Whitney, Hannah, Bridget, Mason, Morgan, Abby, Ross, Mary, Braxton, and 6 great-grandchildren. As well as many cherished family members and friends. She was preceded in death by both her parents, brother; Joe Toffolo, sister; Caroline Mangione, and husband; David Brown.


In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Association of Spokane. A family interment will be Friday March 21, 2:30pm Greenwood Cemetery. Celebration of life will be Saturday, March 22, 2025 @ 12pm at Southside Senior Center 3151 E 27th Ave Spokane, WA.
