Darlene (Schmidt) McLellan Obituary Darlene Schmidt McLellan died August 9, 2016 in Sacred Heart Hospital. Born in Spokane June 1, 1922 to Erma and Fred Schmidt, she lived in Spokane nearly all her life. Her husband Dr. Norman McLellan preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Molly McLellan Bennion of Seattle, WA, Lory Ann McLellan of Santa Rosa, CA and Scott Alexander McLellan of Boise, ID; son-in-law Roy I. Bennion, daughter-in-law Brenda McLellan; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A graduate of Lewis and Clark High School, Darlene attended WSU to study radio speech and earned membership in the prestigious National Collegiate Radio Guild. She served generously, ably and lovingly in many organizations including Alpha Chi Omega Alumni, Inland Empire Camp Fire, the Spokane District Dental Society Auxiliary, the Republican Party (as Precinct Chair), Job's Daughters (as Guardian of Bethel 60), Central Lutheran Church, Plymouth Congregational Church (as Moderator and Trustee) and Rockwood South Hill (as Resident Chair). Darlene worked as a receptionist and business manager in her husband's dental office. A Memorial Service will be held at 1PM on Sunday, August 14 at Rockwood South Hill, 2903 East 25th Ave, Spokane.
