David Haugen Obituary (Age 80) David Haugen passed away June 5, 2018 in Mead, WA. He was born April 1, 1938 in Newport, ID to Edward and Ida Haugen. David attended Riverside High School in Chattaroy. He married Irene on June 22, 1956 in Sandpoint, ID. They started their life together in Metaline and then moved to Portland, OR for three years. David and Irene moved back to Spokane where they spent the rest of their lives. David worked for Western Union, Graham Oil and Big Red?s but he enjoyed driving truck which led him to Evergreen Freight Lines and finished his career at Safeway. He played softball and refereed basketball but golf was always his passion. He loved going on golfing trips with Irene and their friends. The Wednesday Golfing Group became his close friends. He loved going to his children and grandchildren?s sporting activities as well. David was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and the Teamsters Union. He was also an avid Gonzaga basketball and Seattle Mariners fan. David is survived by his wife, Irene of Mead, WA; children, Rick (Elise), Ramona and Rhonda all of Spokane, WA; grandchildren, Jason (Krista), Rochelle, Nicole (Keith), Kyle (Erin), Marisa, Hayley, Zach and Anna; six great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Irv); sisters-in-law, Elvira of Spokane and Leila of Happy Valley, OR; and brother-in-law, Dean of Happy Valley, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Andy; siblings, Helen, Bob, Don, Carol, Ed, Gordon, Delmar, Sharon and Judy; and step-siblings, Edna, Hazel and Ervin. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 13th from 10am ? 5pm and on Thursday, June 14th from 8am ? 5pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15th at 1pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
