Dean H. Melville Obituary Dean Holloway Melville was born on March 18, 1948 in Spokane, Washington to Bill and Stella Melville. Dean passed away on September 8, 2017 in Spokane. He graduated from Lamont High School in 1966 and attended Washington State University, graduating in 1972 with a degree in Psychology. After working in Spokane, he returned home in 1976 to work with his dad on the family wheat farm. He married Mindy Floyd on August 15, 1999. They made their home initially in Cheney, then moved to the farm in 2004. Dean was a cleric and long time member of Eckankar, The Path of Spiritual Freedom. He was also a Washington State University Cougar fan and supporter of WSU Athletics. Dean loved farming, and was a fourth generation wheat farmer in the Lamont area. His warm sense of humor was enjoyed by everyone. Dean was a kind, gentle, giving Soul, who loved God and life. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Dean is survived by his wife Mindy, mother Stella, sister Milly Kay Baldwin (Bill), step-sons Devon (Halbe) and Mason (Miki), step-grandchildren Eliza and Owen. He was preceded in death by his father Bill. Internment will be at Riverside Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 24th, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John Community Building in St. John, Washington.
