Dee (Delores) Jensen Obituary Dee went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2014 after becoming seriously ill. She was born June 2, 1932 in Fenn, Idaho to May Gilbert and Richard Carlson. During her childhood she spent her early years in the Pierce and Headquarters, Idaho area. Later she attended high school in Riggins, Idaho. There she met and married Arkley Derrick and had two children. Family was very important to Dee. She was a devoted mother to her children. The family made a long time home in Pierce. Together she and Arkley started the Pierce TV Cable System. During this time Dee was active in the development of the Bald Mountain Ski Area, where she operated the Bald Mountain Ski Shop. Skiing at Bald Mountain was a favorite activity for Dee and her family. Dee later married Ron Jensen. They resided in Clarkston, WA. While in Clarkston, she was active in the Lewiston Roundup Association where she volunteered many hours promoting roundup activities. Gardening and decorating were activities she enjoyed. Anyone who enjoyed a meal in the Jensen home knew that one of her favorite activities was cooking. She often could be found searching through her large collection of recipe books to find the most delectable foods to serve guests, Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Jensen and her sister, Luella Johnson. Survivors include her sister, Willetta Eller; her daughter, Dena Thornton and husband, Richard (Spokane, WA); and son, Ken Derrick and wife, Tammy (Battleground, WA); step-children Bill Jensen (Twin Falls, ID) and Kelly Terse (Hamilton, MT). Other survivors include seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held later this summer in the Lewiston-Clarkston area. The family would like memorial donations to be made in Dee?s name to the American Cancer Society.
