Delbert L. Tryon

Delbert L. Tryon Obituary (Age 91) Del was born on September 4, 1925 in New Cambria, Missouri to James and Nellie Tryon. He passed away on August 18, 2017 surrounded by his family in Spokane Valley, WA. Del graduated from North Central High School in Spokane WA. A Veteran of WWII, he joined the US Navy in 1944. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Area on USS Logan as Signalman 3rd Class. Del received an honorable discharge from the Navy in February of 1946. Del married the love of his life, Roberta Howell on July 11th, 1944 in Spokane. They celebrated 73 years of marriage. During that time, they lived in Othello and Spokane. Del worked as electrician for over 40 years and spent 10 years as a Washington State Electrical Inspector prior to retiring. Del and Roberta spent countless hours dancing and traveling. They visited every state in the continental U.S. He was a member of the VFW Post 1435 where they often danced to some of their favorite bands. Del also enjoyed bird hunting with his family. Del is survived by his wife Roberta, daughters: Gloria Stratton of Spokane, Lillian Hernandez (Mike) of Seattle, Debbie Page (Jim) of Yakima. Del had 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Del was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, son-in-law DeWayne, granddaughter Sheryl, grandson Mike and grandson-in-law Joe. Delbert will be remembered for his love for his wife and family. He will be sorely missed. A Memorial Service will be held at Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 3:00 pm.
