Born August 8, 1913 in Wenatchee, WA, the son of Dr. Frank E. and Ruby Vaughn Culp and passed away June 29, 2009. Dennis was the beloved husband of Ethel May Haworth Culp; loving father of Col. Dennis K. Culp Jr. (Simone), Judith M. Greer (Dave) and Joan V. Scott (Lt. Col. Brian); eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Captain Culp and his wife retired in Spokane in 1968. He graduated from the Univ. of Washington before being called to active duty in 1937 in the US Navy as a civil engineer, attached to the Seabees. His Naval career spanned 28 years as he served in three wars; WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Dennis was not only one of the last of the "Greatest Generation" but also one of the last surviving members of pioneering families in Wenatchee, WA. Captain Culp was preceded in death by his wife Ethel and three brothers Frank, Jack and Robert. He will be missed by all who knew him. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00PM Monday,July 13, 2009 at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
