April 23rd, 1995 - September 8th, 2026

Destinee Dawn Delaney was born on April 23, 1995, in Tualatin, Oregon. She passed away on September 8, 2026, in Spokane, Washington, at the age of 31, with her mother and father by her side.

Destinee was a special gift from God granted to her parents, Paul and Penelope Delaney. Even as a little girl, she was always happy and joyful, despite developing Addison’s disease at an early age—a condition she battled throughout her life with great persistence.

At a young age, she developed a lifelong friendship with Jasmine that remained strong until the end. That friendship meant a great deal to Destinee. Destinee graduated from high school with an A.A. degree through the Running Start program.

Work became difficult as her illness worsened, but Star was her constant companion. The two were inseparable. That cat traveled with her to college in California and all the way to her job at Disney World. Star was with her until the end.

Her last job was her best. She was truly growing into an outstanding young woman while caring for two little children. She was wonderful with them, taking them to Silverwood and to the park. She had truly found the gift she had been given.

Destinee and her mother shared a rare closeness. Her mother’s love for children was passed on to Destinee—a gift she carried throughout her life.

She will be deeply missed, especially during the days of her top-secret late-night runs to Winco with her partner in crime, her brother Dustin. We do not know how she did it, but she could get him to go almost every time, even when he did not want to.

Destinee is survived by her loving parents, Paul and Penelope Delaney; her brother, Dustin Delaney; and her grandparents, Karen Grimm and Debra Lenius. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane, Washington, with interment to follow at 2:00 p.m. A basket for sympathy cards will be available at the service.
