Dian L. Newell Obituary (Age 60) Dian was born April 6, 1953 in Van Nuys, CA passed away September 26, 2013 after a long struggle with melanoma. A long time resident of Spokane and an avid string instrumentalist and singer, she will be missed by many. She is also mourned by a network of melanoma survivors with whom she has had ongoing connections while battling this disease. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert Greene; her sons, Cameron Newell and Jesse Greene; and her five siblings, Roger, Jan, Nancy, Lauren and Karen. She is also survived by an extended community of musicians, friends, and admirers. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 30th at 1 pm at Heritage Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Melanoma Research Foundation, PO Box 759329, Baltimore, MD 21275; Volunteers of America, 525 W 2nd Ave., Spokane, WA 99201, or Second Harvest Food Bank, 1234 E.
