Diane Lynn Fritz Obituary (Age 80) Passed away March 24, 2016. She was born October 29, 1935 in San Luis Obisbo, CA to Ivan William and Thelma Mae Rowley. Diane enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up in sunny Pismo Beach, CA. She graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1953, then went on to San Luis Obispo Jr. College for two years where she acquired an AA degree in Business and Music Theory. Diane lived in Japan, Hawaii and ended up in Spokane where she spent the majority of her life and raised her three children. Having a passion for singing and music, she studied at the Aspen School of Music in Colorado and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. The highlights of Diane?s singing career include: Soprano Soloist with the Spokane Symphony, featured roles with the Seattle Opera, lead roles in various productions with the Spokane Civic Theater and productions with Spokane Falls Community College. She was also a professional church soloist for 21 years with Westminster Congregational Church in Spokane. Extending her talents and love of music even further she taught voice and piano for over 20 years. She was a member of the Northwest Music Teachers Assoc. and the longest member of Monday Musical from 1961 to present. Diane is survived by her three children Stanley P. Cornell of Las Vegas, NV; Jami A. Grosmick of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Jill M. Williams of Eatonville, WA; 5 grandchildren Jacob A. Williams, Danette L. Rice, Samuel E. Grosmick, Sarah M. Williams and Hayden P. Cornell; 2 great-grandchildren Thea G. Williams and Olivia M. Stoumbaugh. Diane had expressed that she had considered her children to be her greatest achievement. She was preceded in death by her late husbands Emanuel Giumarra in 1971 and David W. Fritz in 2009. Funeral Service 1:00PM Monday, April 4, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Chapel.
