Dona Lou Hanson

July 07, 1930 - December 25, 2013

Dona Lou Hanson Obituary (Age 83) Dona was born on July 7, 1930. On Christmas Day, the heavens opened up and welcomed the most beautiful angel of all. Dona was a strong advocate for the military and those that served our country. She worked tirelessly on a memorial for the veterans on her mantel. She praised her husband, son, brothers and father-in-law for their sacrifices. Her hard work paid off as a picture of this was published in the paper! She was so proud of that and especially her son who returned recently to the Middle East. Dona loved hearing about the adventures of her daughter's family of critters out on her little farm. Blarney, Charlie and Link the ?pig? will miss her dearly. Dona reminisced about growing up in a small farm community of Uniontown. Her special way of telling stories made everyone laugh. She was quite the character. Her kindness, generosity and love warmed the hearts and touched the very souls of everyone she met. Dona?s love for animals was a big part of her life. They were family to her as well. Her unswerving faith and courage guided her family through triumph as well as tragedy. Dona and her husband Hans, shared 61 years together. She is survived by Harford (Hans) of Spokane and two children, Douglas Hanson and his wife Annette of San Antonio, Nancy Hanson of Newman Lake, her grandchildren Brenna Hanson of Phoenix, Grace Hanson, Dustin and Christopher Walton of San Antonio, siblings Henry Goedde of Spokane and Alice Nason of Kirkland. The Hanson family would like to thank all of their friends and neighbors for many years of love and support. A celebration of Dona?s life will be held January 6, 2014 at 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1104 W. Heroy. Donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans or the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
