Donald "Bud" Harlow Christenson Obituary
(Age 86)
Died March 20, 2010 at home in Snohomish after a long extended illness. He was born August 15, 1923 in Yakima, WA to Alfred and
Constance Christenson. He graduated from Cowiche High School and University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following the war he married Alba M. Kelso on June 22, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After various jobs he settled down to a long-term career with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Don spent most of his life in Yakima, moving to Spokane in 1976 and Snohomish in 1992. Don lived a life of faith serving in many capacities in churches, missions, faith based organizations. His travels included Russia, Bulgaria, Swaziland, Kyrgyzstan, and China. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Alba. He is survived by sons, Dennis Christenson (LaLoni), Mark Christenson (Janet); daughter Janice Rommen (Idar); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three brothers, Robert A. Christenson (Leona), John W. Christenson (Marilyn), James J. Christenson (Ethelyn); one sister, Esther M. Wine (Dale). A viewing will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home followed by a graveside at Greenwood Memorial Terrace at 3:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 3 p.m. at West Valley Church of the Nazarene in Yakima, Washington with dinner following.
