Donald E. Howard Obituary (AGE 77) Passed away on April 28, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Don was born July 11, 1933, in Tensed, Idaho to parents C. Ward & Bessie Howard. A long time resident of Spokane, the family moved here where Don attended Libby Junior High and went on to Lewis & Clark where he graduated in 1952. He attended many technical schools. Don spent several years in the Civil Air Patrol and then went into the Air National Guard for 6 years, mostly as a cook. He was in the Army from 1956-1958 and spent most of his time at the Nevada Test Site. Don work many jobs in his life starting with the Union Pacific Railroad, Ideal Cement, Hillyard Processing, Adams Tractor, ASC Machine Tools, Empire Boring and Sun Runner Boats, He did plant maintenance and Heavy equipment repair. Don was a member of The HASSIE car club and Pacific N.W. Kaiser-Frazer Owners Club. He loved the old cars & motorcycles and has many trophies for the work on them. Don is survived by wife of 49 years Kay Howard; children Dorene Carney, Clayton (Linda) Howard and Julie (Mark) Morris; 12 grandchildren, Patrick, Jonathan, Lisa, Benjamin, Madeline, Joseph, Marshal, Cody, Andrea, Rebecca, Howard & Delaney; and sister Marge Hitchcock. He was preceded in death by Parents C. Ward & Bessie Howard in 1979. Viewing will be held May 6th from 8-5. A celebration of life will be held May 7th at 4:30 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Veterans Cemetery or Heart Research in his memory.
