December 25, 1932 - June 20, 2017

Donald Eugene Dunn Obituary Passed peacefully June 20th, 2017. Born on Christmas Day 1932, in San Francisco, California to Eugene and Ruth Dunn, Don moved to Spokane as a boy attending school at North Central. He worked at his mothers restaurant, the "Go, Go, Go Burger." It was here he learned the foundation for his success would be a strong work ethic. Dad left Spokane for adventure in 1951 joining the US Navy. He served during Korea as a bombardier on a nostalgic Grumman Warbird. After serving, he moved back to Spokane, met and fell in love with his beautiful and patient wife of 61 years, Dory. He painstakingly cared for their lovely home for 63 years. He could grow anything and his garden of vegetables and flowers rivaled any prize winners. An employee of Carnation Dairy, he retired after 45 years of loyal service. One of his greatest successes was the way he took care of his family. He provided love and affection, companionship and guidance whenever needed. Dad found calm and solace in the ocean, specifically the Oregon coast. He adored watching the dolphins swim freely through the sea. He and Mom were avid theater-goers, enjoying countless seasons at the INB. He had a passion for music, especially the operatic voices of Mario Lanza, Il Divo and Sarah Brightman, and if there was a steel drum playing anywhere, you knew where you could find Dad. Preceded in death by his parents and wife, he is survived by his sister Debbie Dunn, his brother Bill Smith, his three kids, Dona Larkin (Fred), Dennis (Julie), and Dean (Trish), six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He leaves a legacy of love and compassion for all of us. Rest easy, Papa. Private graveside service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please honor and cherish each other every day. Any donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
