Donald M. Crain Obituary (Age 90) Passed away November 15, 2014. Born October 29, 1924 in Frenchtown, MT to Vernon and Corrine (Bisson) Crain, Don attended schools in Missoula, MT. As the youngest of four brothers already in the service, he left Missoula County High School early to enlist at age 17 in the US Marine Corps. He served in the forward lines of the invasions of Tarawa, Saipan, and Tinian. Returning to Montana after the war, he met and married Thrine Reed on January 27, 1947. Don frequently talked about the call to "go west, young man", which he and his family did when they moved to Spokane in 1955. Life moved at a rapid pace, memories were made, a successful business was created and the family swelled to four children. After retirement, Don enjoyed many years active in the Marine Corps League and Second Div. Marine Corps Assoc. at local, state, and national levels. He spent thirty years as a Toys for Tots volunteer. A highlight was his graduation from Deer Park High School in 2002. Don is survived by his wife of 67 years; children: Teresa Troy (Vernon), Dennis (Ann), Donna King (Neal) and Tom; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
