Donald W. Nelson Obituary (Age 84) Passed away August 17, 2011 in Spokane. He was born in 1926 in Kimball, Nebraska and attended school in Chewelah, WA. He joined the Army when he was 19 and served in WWII after the bombing of Japan. Don owned and operated his own business, Nelson's Body Shop for over 40 years. He built two Model T's 1910 and 1915. He was a member of the Spokane Model T Club, the Horseless Carriage Club and a retired firefighter and EMT from Fire District 10. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. In 1932 he married Delores Carlson. They have six children surviving: Steven Nelson (Sheri), Susan Landsverk (Paul), Philip and Paul Nelson, David Nelson (Marcia) and Deborah Horton; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Lu Robinson and Francis Brusseau; sister-in-law Margaret Nelson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Delores and his brother Rolfe Nelson. Visitation will be Thursday 10-5PM at Heritage and Graveside Service 11:00AM Friday August 26th at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave.
