Donis Elaine (Clawson) Bowen Obituary Born June 25, 1924 in Pueblo, Colorado, Donis grew up in Southern Idaho. She worked as a riveter during WWII at Fairchild where she was retained after all the other female riveters had been discharged because she was small enough to fit into the wings of the aircraft. She then married and lived the majority of her years on the farm at Spangle. For many years she was the egg lady, pedaling eggs in Spokane from the family farm. For the last 1 1/2 years Donis resided at her daughter Susie's home in Farmington. Donis was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Bowen; one sister, Ruth Buell of California; and one brother, John Clawson. She is also survived by her five sons, Biff (Linda) Bowen, Dean (Joan) Bowen, Hal Bowen, Paul (Pam) Bowen, and Abe (Marlene) Bowen; four daughters, Debbie (Dave) Billings, Patti Williams, Susie (Bert) Small and Janet Toone; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Donis' funeral will be 2:00 pm Friday at Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any local women's shelter.
