Donovan Hamilton Bowers, Jr. Obituary (Age 92) Loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather passed away February 7, 2018 in Spokane, WA. Don was born October 17, 1925 in Des Moines, IA to Donovan and Eleanor Bowers Sr. His school years were spent in Chicago, IL with many summers on the family farm in Iowa. While in the Army Air Corps and stationed at Geiger Field AFB, he met and married the love of his life, Idanell Wilson in De Smet, ID. Together they had two children, Charlotte and Charles. Don worked as a major appliance repairman. He also worked at the Masonic Temple and an RV park in Casa Grande, AZ. Over the years he was active in many organizations. Don is survived by his children, Charlotte (Bob) Hamblen of Post Falls, ID and Charles Bowers of Kent, WA; sister, Barbara Bowers of Park Ridge, IL; grandson, Matthew (Laura) Hamblen of Syracuse, UT; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Idanell. Thank you to the staffs at: Hospice of Spokane, North Central Care and Touchmark Skilled Nursing. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 1st at 1pm at Heritage Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Terrace at 2:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Don's memory to Shriner's Children's Hospital of Spokane, 911 W. 5th, Spokane, WA 99204.
