January 18, 1928 - June 17, 2016

Dorothy Ann Solin Obituary Dorothy Ann Solin passed quietly into the arms of our Lord and Savior on June 17, 2016. She now joins her husband, Norman, who preceded her in April of 1994. Together Again. She was born January 18, 1928 to Rose and Karl Shoenbeck in Portland, Oregon. She met and married her husband and they moved to Spokane. Of all the jobs Dorothy had in her life, one of her favorites was at Lewis and Clark High School in the book room. She loved working with the students; some kept in touch for years following. Her final position at School District 81 was Treasurer in the District Office. During this time she also earned her Associate Degree from The Falls. After working at the District Office for several years, she retired to care for her ailing husband until his death. Her time was then spent volunteering at the Spokane Blood Bank, Deaconess Hospital Gift Shop and the Messiah Lutheran Church Kitchen. She was also a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. Dorothy enjoyed other pastime actives like growing roses, baking, sewing, listening to classical music and walking. She participated in many Volksmarches? and Bloomsdays. She is survived by her four children; Ted Solin and his life partner, Laurie Thebarge, Colorado, Leanne Munkers Pratt, California, Kim Solin and his wife, Monica, Spokane and Rex Solin and his wife, Lorie, Oregon. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Amy, Trevor, Kasey Munkers, California, Michelle Edwards Fischel and her husband, Dan, Australia, Kate Solin, Spokane, Graeme and Taylor Solin, Oregon and seven great-grandchildren. Dorothy?s immediate family would like to thank the staff of North Central Care Center of Spokane for their wonderful, attentive care over the past four years and our mother?s final days. They lovingly provided updated information during this time. We could not have asked for anything more. You are a blessing. At her request, there will be no services.
