Dorothy "Dee" (Bowers) Smith Obituary Longtime resident of Deer Park, WA, she was called heavenward on Sat. June 8, 2013. Dee had four children: Rueben (Dale) Bowers, Bob Bowers, Carol McDaniel, and Linda Gilbert: fourteen grandchildren: R.D. Bowers Jr. (deceased), Richard Bowers, Cyrena Lehman, Dawn James Robert Bowers, Amanda Bowers, Chad Bowers, Rachelle Bowers (deceased), Mike Gembala, Matt Gembala, Troy Bowers, Whitney Bowers-Steinauer, and 24 great-grandchildren. She worked for Banner Furnace and Fuel in Spokane, WA for close to thirty years and J&D Supermarket in Sunnyside, WA prior to moving to Spokane. During her life she enjoyed being a part of the Deer Park First Baptist Church, was a member of Credit Women International, enjoyed riding horses with the Prairie Riders, Penny-A-Mile, and co-sponsored with her longtime friend Mary Tucker, the annual Northwest Ladies Trail Ride which raised money for local youth organizations such as Daybreak of Spokane, Hutton Settlement for Boys and organized charity auctions for Orphan Acres for abandoned horses. We will miss her laughter and we will miss her love for life! Greatest of all we are thankful for her prayers for us and the generations to come! A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 4:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 1205 E Crawford St, Deer Park, WA 99006, all are welcome to attend.
