Dorothy Helena Watson Obituary (Age 96) Passed away on July 19, 2010 in Spokane, WA. She was born on December 31, 1913 in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence O. and Helena I. (Bresee) Wood. She married David H. Watson, Sr. Dorothy worked for and retired from the City of Spokane in the Waterworks Dept. in 1980. While able she knitted baby afghans for all the new babies in her family and church and made needlepoint crosses for everyone she met. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she cared deeply about her friends. Her last two years she spent at Fairwinds where she enjoyed Bingo, Banga, Bunko, Left-Right-Center and her passion for Wii bowling. She received most improved bowler this year. Her much loved second family was Shadle Park Presbyterian Church where she was a founding member since 1949. She was a teacher, deacon, and greeter giving her famous hugs. She is survived by her children Helena F. Potter and husband Richard (Dick), Margaret E. Holmes and husband John, David H. Watson, Jr. and wife Carolyn, Albert J. Watson (Jimmy) and wife Jean, Marianne L. Goodson and husband Pete; thirteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Shadle Park Presbyterian Church, 5508 N. Alberta St. at Rowan. Please donate to your favorite charity (Dorothy had too many to name) or her church.
