Douglas L. McIlveen Obituary (Age 88) Doug passed away on September 21, 2014 in Spokane, WA. He was born in Sedgewick, Alberta Canada in 1926 to Cecil and Grace McIlveen. They moved to Spokane when he was 5 years old where he lived until his passing. He attended school at Audubon, Havermale and North Central. He was active in Boy Scouts and served his country in WWII. In 1948 he married Patsy Duke and they were married for 58 years until she passed away in 2007. He was a retired truck driver with URM and prior to that drove for Pierone Produce. He was a hard worker, good provider and role model for his family. He loved traveling, camping, golfing and spending time with his family. He was an avid sports fan and loved cars. He was a Teamster for most of his working life. He is survived by his son Lawrence McIlveen, his daughters Kathy (Paul) Fredericksen, Sandra Daoust, and Susan Hunstad, sister Betty Nevers, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy, son Richard McIlveen, his parents Cecil and Grace McIlveen, sisters Dorothy Kidd and Elaine Hanson, and brother Kenneth. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Sept 26th at 10:30 am at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA. Memorial contributions can be made to Honor Flight, or Disabled American Veterans.
