June 15, 1919 - April 01, 2018

E. Geraldine McLaughlin Obituary (Age 98) On April 1, 2018, Easter Sunday our sweet mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend went peacefully in her sleep with her loving family by her side. She is now in her Heavenly Home resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Gerry was born on June 15, 1919 to Joe and Maude Adams in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The family moved from Jackson Hole to Leadore, ID where she attended Lemhi grade school and Leadore High School graduating in 1936. It was in Leadore where Gerry met the love of her life Mac (Arnold) McLaughlin at age 14 when he moved from Butte, MT to live with his mom and step-dad. They met while he was working on Gerrys parents ranch. They began courting when Gerry was 16 and were married 3 years later on April 28th, 1938. They lived in Leadore where they welcomed their first son Ronald (Ron) in 1941. After leaving Leadore they moved to Dillon, MT where they welcomed their second son Jerrold (Jerry) in 1943. Wanting to be closer to Macs family the family settled in Divide, MT where they lived until 1950 when they moved to Spokane, WA. Upon arriving in Spokane they bought a Phillips 66 service station on Hamilton and Boone in the GU district. In 1952 they completed their family with the birth of their daughter Arnalee (Arnie). In 1960 they sold the service station and moved to Spokane Valley where her husband worked at various car dealerships as a sales manager. Gerry spent the early years of her marriage taking care of her family. She was an amazing homemaker. Everyone loved her fresh baked bread, cinnamon rolls and Butte pasties. You could always count on Gerry having a sweet treat and pot of coffee ready for company. After her children had grown Gerry attended Spokane Community College and received her LPN degree, taking her state board exam in 1963 on her 25th wedding anniversary. Everyone was so proud of her. Her nursing career included working as a nurse at Deaconess and Sacred Heart Hospitals and also at Spokane ENT. After retirement she volunteered at local elementary schools. Gerry was a volunteer board member of the Valley Senior Center and Spokane Valley Hospital Pink Ladies. Gerry always enjoyed giving her time to others, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gerry is preceded in death by her husband Mac in 1986, her brothers Bob and Keith Adams along with their wives Opal and Alice Adams. Gerry is survived by her younger sister Jeano (Darlo) Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID as well as three loving children Arnie (Perry) Saddler, Jerry (Carla) McLaughlin and Ronald McLaughlin.
