Edith M. Lowe Obituary (Age 91) Edith passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Able Family Home under the care of Horizon Hospice of Spokane. Edith was born May 15, 1918 in Freewater, OR to Tascar and Leona Broyles. She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1936. After graduation, she completed business college in Walla Walla, WA. On February 22, 1947 she married Link M. Lowe of Spokane. Edith was a well known and respected business woman, enjoying a long and successful career in the road and tunnel construction and rock quarry business with Curtis Construction Company, Yardley Drilling, Gibson and Roberts, and Arnold and Lowe. She had a great love for gardening and her Spokane Valley home was most noted for the beautiful petunias and roses surrounding it. Edith was preceded in death by her loving husband Link in 1988, after 41 years of marriage; brother Lee Broyles; and stepson Link Lowe, Jr. She is survived by her stepdaughters Inie Pepiot and her husband Duane of Kennewick; and Betty Cochran of Connell; nephews Bob Broyles and his wife Nancy of Walla Walla; Duane Broyles and his wife Emma of Spokane; Tony Broyles and his wife Nyra of Overland Park, KA; niece Martha Berman and her husband David of Yakima; and numerous grandchildren and great nephews and nieces who loved her dearly. Viewing will be held on Friday, November 13 from Noon to 5:00pm and Saturday, November 14 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 2:00pm at Heritage Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
