Edith Marie (Starner) Collins Obituary (Age 88) Edith Marie (Starner) Collins went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 19, 2017. She was born to Earl and Johanna Starner in Edgemont, South Dakota. The family moved several times before settling in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where she attended school from the 4th grade through high school; where she enjoyed drama, playing violin and social clubs. She then traveled up to Three Hills, Albert Canada to attend Prairie Bible College, where she captured the attention of her future husband, Rev. Leroy Collins Jr. They were married in 1951 and had three children: Gene, James and Linda. This union lasted 34 years. As a young widow Edith had to learn to drive and also took on a five year adventure working at a school for Missionary Children in Cote d'Ivoire, Africa. Edith's greatest joys in life came from her relationship with Jesus and her family. She loved the simple things: reading, Bible studies, singing hymns, gardening and baking bread. She had a wonderful smile and a caring nature, readily making friends wherever she went. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lou and Harry; nephew, David; sisters-in-law, Shirley Dobias and Adeline Collins; husband, Leroy and son, Gene. She will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Kris Collins; and daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kevin Fairhurst; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Collins; brother and sister-in-law, Adson and Georgia Starner; brother-in-law Hugh Collins; her eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
