Edward Herman Schmidt Obituary (Age 92) Passed away July 16, 2011 at the Waterford. He was born April 20, 1919, in Spokane, raised in Valleyford and was the eldest of three brothers. He graduated from Valleyford High School. In 1940 Edward married Evelyn Nisley. During the war he was an electrical inspector on B-24s and B-17s at Galena AFB. He worked for Shell Oil, and Mitchell Lewis & Staver as district manager in sales of farm machinery, later retiring after 35 years. He enjoyed his antique cars, fishing, boating and traveling in his motor home. Edward is preceded in death by his mother Marie, father Otto, sister Pauline, brother Lester and sister-in-law Mary Ellen. He is survived by his wife Evelyn; brother Alfred; sister-in-law Betty; daughter Connie (Jim) Cooley; son Thomas (Anita) Schmidt; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 23rd at Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215 Spokane, WA 99210.
